Spring McManus is an independent advisor specializing in modern and contemporary art. Combining deep expertise in art history and the global art market with a network of leading collectors, galleries and art advisors, Spring directs fine art acquisitions, sales, and collection management for a portfolio of established and emerging art collectors and cultural institutions.

Spring started her art-world career at Christie’s, initially working in the private sales department and then supporting the launch of Christie’s first private sales gallery in New York, Haunch of Venison. She then became the Miami-based director of Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art, New York, focusing on modern and contemporary masters, and specializing in sales and exhibition programming. Spring has organized world-class exhibitions by Joan Mitchell, Tom Wesselmann, Ed Ruscha, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, León Ferrari, Jesús Rafael Soto, Günther Uecker, and Enrico Castellani, among others. 

Spring has a master’s degree in art history, connoisseurship, and a history of the art market from Christie’s Education and a bachelor’s degree in visual art and art history from the University of Florida. She is on the board of the Fountainhead Artist Residency, a benefactor of Young Arts, and an active member at the Perez Art Museum Miami, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Bass Museum of Art. She also serves as a senior advisor to the Arts Funders Forum, the leading network of cultural philanthropists, and Blackdove, a new technology platform to advance the video art experience for artists, collectors, and institutions.
